What We Are Doing

The core areas of our work:

Identify People
We identify people with learning disabilities who are in need of support because they are socially isolated, or they are facing barriers in their lives that are reducing their quality of life.
Recruit and Train
We recruit and train volunteers to become Citizen Advocates. Once trained, an Advocate’s role is to support their Partner to stand up for their rights and to make sure that their voice is heard when decisions are being made that impact on their lives.

What is Citizen Advocacy?

Citizen Advocacy is a long-term friendship between a person who has a learning disability (Partner), and a volunteer (Citizen Advocate).
